Two of the rooms where Jefferson drafted the Declaration have been reconstructed in the upstairs of the house. Also featured at the reconstruction--which is just off the courtyard of the Balch Institute for Ethnic Studies--is memorabilia from the life of Jefferson, as well as a short film about him. The drafts of the Declaration of Independence, with revisions and annotations, reveal the process which Jefferson and the document went through before it was completed.
